Running Physical Therapy

Built for Runners Who Want to Stay Running

Running injuries keep active adults stuck in a cycle of pain, rest, and frustrating setbacks. At Iron Health, we specialize in the specific demands of running, identify what's behind your symptoms, and build a plan that gets you back to full mileage and keeps you there.

Running Injuries Don't Resolve Without Addressing the Cause

You rest, recover, and the pain returns on your next run

Time off quiets symptoms, but without addressing the load, strength, or mechanics issues behind your injury, the same problem returns as soon as training ramps back up.

Generic PT doesn't account for running demands

A standard rehab protocol that doesn't account for your mileage, pace, and training goals leaves gaps. Running injuries need to be addressed in the context of running, not just general movement.

You're adjusting your entire routine around the pain

Cutting mileage, skipping workouts, and building your schedule around symptoms is a short-term workaround. Without resolving the root cause, those adjustments tend to become permanent.

Frequently Asked Questions

Running injuries raise a lot of questions. Here's what runners ask most about running physical therapy at Iron Health.

How long does running PT typically take?

It depends on the injury and your training goals. Many runners see meaningful improvement within a few weeks of focused work. After your evaluation, we'll give you a realistic timeline and the milestones we'll work toward together.

Can I keep running during PT?

Usually, yes, with modification. We'll assess what's safe to continue and adjust your training load while addressing the root cause. The goal is to keep you running, not sideline you longer than necessary.

Do you offer running gait analysis?

Yes. Running gait analysis is part of our evaluation process for running injuries. We assess your mechanics to identify the movement patterns and strength deficits contributing to your symptoms, then build your plan around what we find.

Do you accept insurance for running PT?

We're primarily cash-based and out-of-network for commercial plans, though we do accept Medicare. We provide superbills for possible reimbursement, and HSA/FSA cards are accepted.

What makes running PT different from regular PT?

Running PT accounts for the specific demands of your training, not just general movement. We assess your gait, training load, and goals, then build a plan that addresses the root cause of your injury in the context of returning to and staying in your training.
